TUESDAY TECH TIP:
Unlike the mirror on an SLR or even a film gate on a 35mm film camera, the CMOS sensor on most digital cinema cameras should NEVER have to be cleaned when shooting in the field. The delicate sensor is extremely easy to scratch and should only be cleaned in the lab by a knowledgeable technician. If you absolutely must clean the sensor of dust, it must be done with a lens blower (NOT a can of compressed air) and done as carefully as possible. If it has fingerprints, it must be taken to a camera lab for cleaning.
